I found this excellent video of my favourite stretch of road – the A686 over Hartside in Cumbria. I’ve got some very fond memories of slicing across the moors on this road, in both my old Civic Type-R and current Golf GTI.

Might I suggest if you venture a bit further in your Gti you might find a few more roads you like. The A68 Newcastle to Scotland is a cracker. 🙂
Good advice, although there are quite a few Gatsos just north of the Scottish border on the A68, so it pays to take care.
